este jueves en Caracas al seleccionador César Farías, tras el exitoso paso de la 'Vinotinto' por la Copa América de Argentina, donde finalizaron en un exitoso cuarto lugar, inédito para el futbol de ese país.
Farías indicó tras la reunión con el mandatario y el Ministro de Deportes Héctor Rodríguez en el Palacio de Miraflores, que siente que ambos están con deseos de seguir apoyando el avance del futbol venezolano.
"Ha sido todo muy productivo, el ministro está muy dispuesto, al presidente lo veo con muchos deseos de seguir ayudando al fútbol, incluso anda con serio interés de querer nombrar al futbol también como deporte nacional y eso es muy bonito que una actividad como ésta, que nos alberga a todos, pueda seguir teniendo los espacios importantes en la sociedad", dijo Farías.
Venezuela culminó en el cuarto lugar de la Copa América después de caer en las Semifinales en los penaltis ante Paraguay por 5-3 y perder 1-4 frente a Perú por el tercer lugar.
Farías resaltó que continuará avanzando en la consolidación de la práctica futbolística en el país.
"Sin lugar a dudas a los venezolanos nos une la pasión Vinotinto", agregó el técnico, quien afirmó que el presidente se siente partícipe de esta pasión.
Conversaron de temas relacionados a los aspectos que quieren mejorar en la Vinotinto, como el trabajo fuera de la cancha y las eliminatorias sudamericanas a la Copa del Mundo Brasil 2014, que comenzará en octubre próximo.
En sus palabras es una etapa en la que la 'Vinotinto' cuenta con un grupo más joven y es el momento de trabajar en no detener esta evolución y seguir contando con un colchón amplio y "que Venezuela tenga jugadores para r ato".
